Nature & Science Based Field Trips

Nature & Science-Based Field Trips Linked to Curriculums

Our Nature & Science-Based Field Trips are customizable, experiential learning programs that connect classroom curriculum with real-world exploration. Rooted in nature-based education, these field trips weave together science, storytelling, culture, and hands-on discovery to help students build meaningful connections with the natural world and their communities.

Rather than simply learning about concepts in a classroom, students engage directly with ecosystems, watersheds, biodiversity, and cultural perspectives through immersive experiences that bring academic subjects to life.

Designed with flexibility in mind, our field trips can be adapted to support the specific goals, age groups, and curriculum needs of each school. Programs can range from single-day excursions to multi-visit learning experiences that deepen understanding over time.

In addition to engaging students, these programs support teachers by providing real-world applications, cross-curricular connections, and opportunities to extend learning before and after the trip experience.

Our Approach

Cross-Curricular Integration

We collaborate with teachers to connect field experiences to existing curriculum areas—including science, social studies, language, art, geography, and environmental education—creating meaningful interdisciplinary learning opportunities.

Learning Through Nature & Place

Rooting education in hands-on, place-based experiences that reconnect students with local ecosystems, natural cycles, and their surrounding communities.

Storytelling & Perspective-Sharing

Integrating scientific inquiry, local knowledge, indigenous perspectives, and storytelling to encourage curiosity, empathy, and deeper understanding.

Systems Thinking & Real-World Connections

Helping students recognize patterns, relationships, and interdependence within ecosystems and human communities, moving beyond isolated facts toward holistic understanding.

Hands-On Exploration & Inquiry

Engaging students through citizen science, ecological observation, watershed exploration, biodiversity studies, mapping activities, and creative reflection.

Teacher & Student Engagement

Supporting both educators and learners through immersive experiences that foster curiosity, collaboration, critical thinking, and meaningful connection to the natural world.
